The Piedmont Arts’ Expressions exhibition is open (and free) to the public! This annual event displays artwork selected from student and adult residents within a 100-mile radius of Martinsville, VA, the home of the Piedmont Arts Center. Expressions 2018 is the Piedmont Arts Center’s largest open-entry art exhibit yet, with nearly 250 pieces by 141 regional artists, according to Piedmont Arts Executive Director Heidi Pinkston.
Make a family field trip to the Piedmont Arts Center within the next two months to witness this artistic explosion in your own backyard and find fuel for the creative spark within you.
Best in Show (sponsored by the Virginia Mirror Company) was awarded to Roanoke artist Jonathan Murrill for “Independent,” a pencil portrait of a young woman:
