ABOUT ART NOW:
*AAArt Now* is a blog started by writer and editor Melissa Rooney and Fine Arts Photographer Marthanna Yater to 1) provide free time-sensitive reviews of Visual Arts Exhibits, particularly free family-friendly exhibits or exhibits of new and little known artists and 2) inform the public about and encourage them to visit the impressive art exhibits in their own backyards. The posts concentrate on the Research Triangle Park and Capital areas of North Carolina (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) but cover exhibits elsewhere, as opportunities permit.
Knowing how difficult, time-consuming, and costly it can be for artists to obtain honest reviews and publicity for their work, *AAArt Now* strives to provide free previews, reviews and feedback for art exhibits that may otherwise escape public notice, with the goal of enticing more people to utilize local (and usually free) opportunities to experience the communal, non-digitized, visual stimulation and mindfulness that many of their souls are unknowingly starving for.
